Ian Paton has been a local politician for a more than a few years now: first as a city councillor starting in 2010, then as a city councillor and MLA at the same time (an obvious conflict of interest. during which time he "double-dipped" by receiving two paycheques), and now only as a MLA.
To paraphrase Harry S. Truman: "If he can't take the heat (without publicly responding to another person's criticism of him in a previous letter to the editor), then perhaps he should get out of the kitchen."
