The amount of plastic that’s being generated because of the pandemic will easily wipe out any gains made towards a healthier planet. Can’t all grocery stores offer paper bags as an alternative to plastic, as does Thrifty Foods?

People who are walking or biking in the rain can always bring along a reusable bag in which to put their purchases for the trip home.

Years and years ago, paper bags were the only option. Today, with recycling and yard and food waste being picked up at our door, our household garbage has been reduced to a small amount of mostly dry material, so it’s even easier than in the past to use paper bags for our trash. Why are we using so much plastic?

We have to stop choking our rivers, oceans and landfills with plastic. We should be setting an example to the rest of the world. Please think about the plastic that you use.

Everyone agrees that Canada is the best country in the world in which to live -- let’s make it the healthiest.
