The biggest surprise at the first all-candidates debate in Delta South, other than the highly-entertaining dustup that ended the night, was the ongoing performance of Bruce McDonald, who came across as anything but a Liberal candidate who wants to win this seat.
I took notes, and not once did he use the word Liberal, not once the name of the premier who would lead him on in the Liberal wilderness, not once a proud revelation to his potential followers that, "I am proud to be a Liberal who will fight for Delta South!"
Nope. Throughout the evening, McDonald made use of the royal "we," presumably a reference to his Delta council. And that was it.
