Liberals deliver on crossing promises

I support Bruce McDonald in this election because he is the only candidate who has clearly stated he will do his best to ensure a new Fraser River crossing is quickly built to relieve the horrible traffic congestion at the George Massey Tunnel.

The B.C. Liberal government has stated that a new Fraser River crossing in our area is a priority and will be built as soon as necessary consultation with the public has been completed. While there may be reasons to criticize the current Liberal government, failure to fulfill road-building promises is not one of them.

Consultation for the Gateway program, consisting mainly of a new Port Mann Bridge and the South Fraser Perimeter Road, began in 2003. The new bridge opened last December and the SFPR will be completed by the end of this year. Golden Ears Bridge consultations began in 2002 and the bridge opened in 2009.

The current government has a track record when it comes to infrastructure projects; if it promises to build one, it does so.

I believe that this election will be a lot closer than people may think.

Adrian Dix's fumbling of the Kinder Morgan pipeline issue is hurting the NDP's chances. We need a new crossing so I will be casting my vote for McDonald.
