It is unfortunate that the article regarding the optioned ALR lands singled out a particular farmer. That was never my intent and it is regrettable: I was replying to a specific question and in hindsight I wish I had declined to comment.
I might also add the price offered by the developer is one that hopefully recognizes the value of the land should it come out of the Agricultural Land Reserve.
While I may not want to see the land industrialized, were it to be so, at least the farmers should receive fair value for their holdings.
