Peter Duffey has made an excellent point: the fact that Bruce McDonald is campaigning on the idea of being an MLA in government is quite incoherent given the fact Christy Clark's ship is most assuredly sunk at this point.

Duffey goes on to say that an NDP majority is unlikely in Delta South, and I would agree, but Nic Slater doesn't need a majority to win. We are looking at a very tight three-way race in this riding. I would bet the spread won't be more than five percentage points between the three candidates.

This means the NDP could easily win this seat with 35 per cent of the vote. The only thing holding Slater back is the perception amongst some NDP-leaning folks who voted for independent Vicki Huntington last time that the NDP doesn't have a shot, but it is a whole new ball game this time around.

All the NDP needs for a win is for people to pick up on the momentum of Slater's campaign and trust in the fact that a vote for the NDP can go a long way to bringing in the change we so badly need, both in this community and in the whole province.

Huntington can't have any effect on the major issues - like health care and education - that are of both local and province-wide importance.
