New highway offers poor landfill access

I had the occasion to visit the Vancouver Landfill last week from my home in Tsawwassen.

I headed out on the new South Fraser Perimeter Road and did not see one directional sign telling me where to go as I headed east. The next thing I know I'm travelling over Highway 99 and see a cutoff on the other side of the road but impossible to get to from my travels east.

I then turned around at 80th Street in the Tilbury area and came back, but still no signs. I turned onto Highway 99 northbound, exited in Ladner and took Highway 99 southbound until I did see a very poorly placed and worded sign which, when I got to the road split, I lucked out and found the exit for the dump.

What utter nonsense! Landfill access was either forgotten or simply ill conceived by the geniuses that designed that very poor excuse for a highway.

Can't something be done to at least provide some decent signage to save the public and commercial vehicles the joy of having to drive around in circles to find the landfill?
