Apparently Canadian democracy will perish if Bill C-38 is enacted, according to a dozen gullible opposition pawns protesting outside DeltaRichmond East MP KerryLynne Findlay's office.

They have every right to protest peacefully and the public has every right to scrutinize their motives and political ignorance.

Led by failed 1997 federal PC candidate Kevin Garvey, the demonstrators claim to be "defending democracy."

Free speech and the right to vote are not on the brink of extinction.

I see nothing immoral whatsoever about the government seeking to scorch the administrative thicket that retards Canada's staple industries. There will still be plenty of fish in the water and crops in the soil.

If the protestors were truly concerned about the ecological and economic integrity of Delta, why do they expend all of their anger at their MP? She's just a legislator, not an executive, and definitely not the villain.

Why not parade outside the office of Port Metro Vancouver CEO Robin Sylvester who insulted Delta by belittling the value of its farms?

Or how about marching outside the Tsawwassen First Nation "legislature" to denounce their gaudy and repulsive mall project?

Instead, they wasted a precious couple hours of life accomplishing nothing.
