For 24 years I have lived in the "west end" of Ladner - just off 47A Avenue. A numbered company hopes to make this area into a mini-West End of Vancouver!
According to the Ladner Area Plan, there is a height restriction in this area of three storeys. The developer is asking Delta council to amend the plan in order to build a fivestorey complex on 47A Avenue.
If the developer is successful in the attempt to persuade council to allow this change, all of Ladner is in jeopardy by setting a precedent. What will come next? Tear down La Belle Auberge and build a six-storey complex? Where will it end?
If you are as concerned as I am about the future of Ladner, please attend the public information meeting on Wednesday, July 16 at 7 p.m. at the Ladner Community Centre.
