Here are some Southlands questions that need to be asked and answered:

Please tell me why, when Century Group first claimed the land was not farmable, it now says it's farmable, and it will give a lot of it to Delta so Delta could sublet it to would-be farmers?

How much is this free land going to cost Delta to look after? It won't be free.

Please tell me why Century first claimed it wanted the housing close to the town core so the downsizing and aged customers wouldn't have to drive and contribute to the already busy traffic and now the housing is proposed to be built near Boundary Bay, which will force everyone to drive?

Tell me how this proposal is good for people when it will double the size of the beach community and destroy its very quality way of life?

Being from a farming background, you don't build on quality land, you work the land. So why would Century or its supporters even think or threaten to build greenhouses on good farmland? You build green-houses on land of little value.

I have always said that all sides should be debating this issue, but all I see from the pro side is complaints about the con side for expressing their concerns.

I said it before: this proposal is not for the best of anybody but the developer, because that's his job, to build and make money.
