I am very pleased about the smooth running of the Ladner Community Kitchen that opened in December 2009 and is still going strong.

We work in affiliation with the South Delta Food Bank, serving some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community affected by job losses, illness and disabilities.

In addition to the weekly rations of bread, pasta, canned food, etc. they receive, we serve freshlymade soup or sandwiches, and depending on our budget, even some fresh fruit, which is always such a nice treat, especially for the children.

Thanks to SaveOnFoods and our generous community, we received a cheque for $770 in the first quarter of this year.

Save-On customers that have unused Save-On More Points can go to the Ladner store and donate their points to the South Delta Food Bank.

For every 1,000 points donated, we get $1. What's even better is that Save-On-Foods matches it with another $1.

It is such a painless way for everyone to donate because it does not cost anything extra, and people are being very generous with it.

I want to sincerely thank the management of Save-On-Foods and our community for all their support.
