It is with tremendous dismay that our high school in Ladner is cancelling the Work Options program this fall.
The teachers and support staff are outstanding and my Grade 10 student will likely be thrown to the wind. Other programs in the past were dismal failures and if you could only see what I can see, you would find a lovely young man who has goals and had, and I emphasize had, an honest chance to actually follow his dreams for his future.
Perhaps my voice isn't strong enough to get the school board to keep this valuable program going but without it there is no other option that will help my child (and I'm certain others). I urge the board to reconsider.
Without the Work Options program, surely our very own local students will have no recourse other than to quit school. Do not let gifted and valuable teachers go.
