Service clubs integral to Delta

I am outgoing president of the Tsawwassen Rotary Club.

For fun I kept saying to our club that we were the best club on the planet.

When you read on, you can not help but feel the same way I do. I asked a member to keep track of the volunteer hours we did this year as a club. It blew my socks off when he gave me the report of hours. Sixtytwo projects that resulted in 2,148 hours donated to doing good things in our community. They included dry grad, senior luncheon, planting at Delta Hospital, Delta Gymnastics, Christmas hampers, Earthwise, Delta Museum, scholarships, waterpark, many pancake breakfasts, Tsawwassen Sun Festival parade, plantings at Little House are just a few.

As a community we are so very lucky to have all the service clubs and non-profit organizations doing all their good work. I challenge the other groups to keep track of your organizations volunteer hours and then lets tell the world that we live in the best community on the planet. The Rotary Club of Tsawwassen had fun doing the community work and that is just one reason I am so proud to be a Rotarian.
