SFPR makes it tough to get to Ladner

I will say that I have been a proponent of the need to build another east-west connection and have always thought this road was built several years too late, so I have welcomed its construction.

While driving once or twice a week to Tsawwassen I would look over at the ongoing roadways and there was always this one piece that ran along the side of the highway that I could never quite fit in. It just ended beside the overpass above the railway. Now I understand. This is the single lane that will now take me back to Ladner. It's one little lane that weaves up and over this brand new highway. The only thing missing is the 50 km/h sign with a warning saying tractors have the right of way. That got me thinking: What else might be wrong? And here's the clincher:

Let's say you're heading south to Ladner and miss the exit from Highway 99. So you get off the SFPR going to the coal port because you see Highway 17 down there to your right and figure you'll just make the quick little join and be back in Ladner in no time.

Nope. They won't let you! Let's say you're at the coal port and want to go back to Ladner on Highway 17. Nope. They won't let you do that either! There is no connection from

the SFPR to go north on Highway 17.

They don't want those big bad trucks, the same ones that are using the road now, and have been using it for ages, on the road. And how do you accomplish this? Just don't build an access road, and not just for trucks, but for any vehicle.

I encourage anyone that has not looked at the maps on the South Fraser Perimter Road website to do so, and maybe they will notice something I have not.
