It is a delightful play on a serious subject that incorporates a lot of laughs as a stroke survivor struggles to regain his communication skills. His son, who comes from Winnipeg to assess his father's situation, is distant and uncaring until a connection begins via the speech pathologist.

The son has not been in contact with his father since he was two years old and harbours a lot of resentment without the understanding of why his father left.

Although it sounds like it could be a depressing play, it isn't.

I hope the play will be presented again as it deserves a much larger audience than was present locally. I have been told some people decided not to attend because of the subject matter, which is their loss because they missed out on an excellent production.

I believe that a play of this stature (the playwright has been nominated for a Governor General's Literary Award) should have significant exposure and will educate the public far more than formally produced lectures on the subject.

Thank you, Carroll Lefebvre, for having the courage and determination to put it on with the Sidekick Players.
