Slowpokes shouldn't get in left lane on Highway 17 until they're close to making turn on 56th into Tsawwassen

A few comments about Duncan Holmes' article:

Many people have been commenting in the paper recently about drivers with sunglasses and no lights on in the George Massey Tunnel. As I see it, it is only a recommendation to do this, not a requirement as it is posted on yellow warning signs at the tunnel, not on a regulatory white sign. Good ideas, yes, but not necessarily required by law.

Secondly, I think many of the drivers driving fast on Highway 17 is due to the frustration of constantly being stuck behind someone going south in the left lane doing 80 km/h all the way to Tsawwassen.

Driving 80 km/h in the left lane because they are going to turn into Tsawwassen (or worse, continue on to the ferry terminal) indicates an inattentive, bad driver, as they don't realize what is going on around them.

It takes only about 15 seconds to execute a safe lane change. Why not enjoy their country drive in the right lane and wait until they are south of Deltaport Way before setting up for the turn into Tsawwassen?

Then they will not have to worry about being tailgated.
