For literally decades Tsawwassen residents have successfully stonewalled any development of the Southlands. It has been their apparent intent to prevent any plebeian usurpation of their perceived lifestyle and privilege.
Meanwhile, they have become surrounded by a coal port, a major shipping terminal and soon to come, a rail-sorting yard, a freeway and an enormous shopping complex.
I think residential development and the additional voting power it would have brought to the fight for the area's preservation would have been a better choice.
