Delta residents are supportive of the Delta Police Department considering its own dispatch system for non-urgent emergency calls.
This is according to a recent online community poll on the Delta Optimist’s website.
The Optimist polled 170 Optimist readers asking the question: Do you think Delta Police should consider its own dispatch system for non-urgent emergency calls?
The poll ran from Nov. 1 to 4.

Yes 61.84 % local, 64.71 % total
No 26.32 % local, 19.41 % total

Results are based on an online study of adult Delta Optimist readers that are located in Ladner. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 7.49%, 19 times out of 20.
