Some parts of Europe and the United States have become overwhelmed by trucks carrying containers. Los Angeles has had to institute many measures to control truck pollution.
Can we not learn from their mistakes and come to the conclusion that trucking individual containers about our community with all the constraints of tunnels and bridges will not work. The health of our children depends on this understanding.
Trucking containers on a scale we are seeing will not work. Already other parts of the world have been forced to seek alternatives. Can we not think of the future for once?
Short sea shipping can work and it is less expensive if all the costs associated with trucking are factored into the honest equation.
