Regardless of how one might vote in the upcoming transit referendum, there is one aspect that needs investigation: How can taxpayer funds be legally used to support the "yes" side?
In addition to the multimedia blitz on TV, radio and various websites, the so-called mayors' council is paying people with taxpayer funds to canvas at universities and other public locations. I personally verified this by asking one of them if they are getting paid and the answer was "yes."
Fortunately, Delta council has avoided spending any taxpayer funds in this odd way, and I thank it for that.
