Re: Coat of paint won't cut it at tunnel, Liberals tell

Although I am a Vicki Huntington man, I can't help commenting on Bruce McDonald's remarks about Sylvia Bishop's plan to paint the tunnel.
Back in the Social Credit days they used to paint the tunnel before every election so that ensured it got brightened up every four or five years. McDonald's party doesn't want to improve the lighting in there because it wants to replace the tunnel in about 20 years. Yep, folks, they want to keep us in the dark that long.
Replacing the tunnel means the highway across Richmond to Westminster Highway will be a local road and the highway south of the tunnel will be abandoned as far south as the new South Fraser Perimeter Road. Will all that land go back to the ALR?
All this is being done so they can deepen the Fraser River for larger ships.
