Thank you, Vicki Huntington, for your insightful column bringing attention to the problem people on a disability face every day. It is the most comprehensive report we have seen in our community ever.
I would like to add one more problem the few lucky ones who have an apartment face. Because so many people in the community who have alcohol and addiction problems do not have a place of their own to live, they "couch surf " or look for a place to party and this creates major problems for the people on disability pensions. These people are very aggressive and prey on our handicapped people.
This should be a community concern and there should be compassion out there for our people, not just another problem foisted on our overworked police force.
