Re: Only dollar signs seen at end of major decisions, letter to the editor, Aug. 17

Most citizens don't like expanding communities for industrial purposes for obvious reasons, however the expansion of our economy is essential in order to be healthy and create jobs.

It would be interesting to find out in what kind of industry Maurice Bourassa is making a living. I am certain whatever it is it will somehow be based on an expanding economy.

In addition, wherever Bourassa lives most likely that property was farmland once before. Shame, shame. Why is it OK for you but not others?

It would be interesting to find out how many made in China products Bourassa is purchasing, which would be impossible without a container terminal. Get the picture?

What is wrong with selling resources to the U.S. and/or China? Do you, Bourassa, know that approximately 75 per cent of the Canadian and Chinese economy is owned by American multi-national corporations and without them what economy would Canada possibly have, besides maybe being a Third World country?

I know that Bourassa means well with the letter, however, people have a tendency to make these statements without realizing they really are part of the same problem as well and instead should maybe start living by what they preach.
