When taking my dog for a quick walk in the pouring rain on Feb. 28, I noticed a lady with a dog having a great deal of difficultly walking.

It was very dark so I would only go to the edge of the park beside Windsor Place. As I was watching, a young lady, Eva Jardine, came up to me and asked if I knew the lady as she found her lying in the middle of the park.

I think she tried to help her but the lady, once up, said she was fine and stumbled along. Eva was very concerned so we both followed the senior lady trying to walk home. The lady insisted she was fine, but then fell on the concrete.

The lady and dog were very wet. The lady was talking but seemed confused.

Eva then called 911.

The lady was saying how she had knee problems and I did notice her leg and ankle were swollen. She could not get up and the dog was getting stressed.

You could see she loved her dog but was still confused when talking to us.

The fire truck arrived shortly after the call. We told them the story and we left the women in their hands. I was relieved as the lady would not have got home otherwise. Eva and I exchanged names and she told me where she worked.

I am telling this story as I feel Eva Jardine is a hero. Eva might have even saved the lady's life if she had not helped her up in the park. It was so dark the lady might not have got up or been seen.

You are always hearing bad stories so I thought it would be nice to hear how someone cared, used her intuition and maybe saved a life.

I went to her work, Unforgettable Gifts, to thank her for what she had done. She was not at work but the owner had heard the story from Eva. To me, Eva is a hero.
