How crazy is the Lower Mainland real estate market? Well, according to data released by BC Assessment this week, a home assessed at $10 million doesn’t even come close to cracking the top 500.

The assessment authority has released the addresses of the top 500 valued residential properties in the province, a list topped by a $78-million home on Point Grey Road in Vancouver.

Vancouver, West Vancouver and the University Endowment Lands on the west side of Vancouver absolutely dominate the list, accounting for all but 13 of the 500 most valuable residential properties in B.C.

Only six other jurisdictions in the province had properties make the list, including the Gulf Islands (two properties), Surrey (two), Langley (one), Whistler (five), Oak Bay (two) and White Rock (one).

Delta’s highest valued residential property, a home on Centennial Parkway in Boundary Bay, is assessed at $6.9 million, which is far below the $12.6-million home on Elm Street in Vancouver that claimed No. 500 on the provincial list.
