The Canfor pulp mill in Taylor opened in 1988 and was shuttered in 2022.

Canfor Pulp Products (TSX:CFX) says it has found a buyer for the site of its shuttered pulp mill in Taylor, B.C., but isn’t saying who the new owner will be or what the industrial property will be used for.

Canfor idled the pulp mill in 2022, due a lack of a local fibre supply, and then announced in 2023 that the pulp mill would never be restarted.

Canfor on Wednesday announced it is selling the pulp mill site for $7 million. The company did not say who the new buyer is or what the new owners’ plans for the site are.

“I am very pleased we have reached an agreement to sell our assets in Taylor, British Columbia to a new owner that is committed to repurposing the site and developing a long-term plan which will benefit the community,” said Canfor Pulp CEO Kevin Edgson said in a news release.
