Sun Devils battle their way back to provincials

South Delta off to Langley Events Centre this week after winning wild card spot

The South Delta Sun Devils have battled their back to this week’s BC AAAA Girls Volleyball Championships at the Langley Events Centre.

The Sun Devils secured a berth in the 20-team tournament by winning a wild card tournament last week. They were a fixture in the provincial top 10 rankings for much of the season but failed to earn one of the spots up for grabs at the highly competitive South Fraser Championships.

South Delta is in a round-robin group that includes Vancouver-North Shore champion Handsworth, South Fraser runner-up Elgin Park and Kelowna’s Mt. Boucherie. The championship round starts Friday morning.
