It may be a bit of a spicy start to the weather week on the Sunshine Coast.

Environment Canada is forecasting a risk of thunderstorms in Sechelt late Monday afternoon and in the evening, with a 60 per cent of showers. The high is predicted at 12C with tonight's low at 5C.

Coast Reporter's Weatherhood station is predicting a mix of sun and cloud with a 70 per cent chance of rain.

If you were looking for an excuse to go to the movies, today may be your day: Civil War is playing at the Raven's Cry Theatre and The Fall Guy is playing at the Gibsons Cinema.

You won't want to be indoors for the rest of the week: sunny skies are predicted for the rest of the week with highs starting at 15C Tuesday, rising to 24C Saturday.

The highest temperature recorded in Sechelt for May 6 since 2008 was 25.7C in 2013 and the record low was 2.6C in 2010.

In other news, London Drugs in Gibsons has reopened after a cybersecurity incident saw the store chain's stores closed last week.
