The City of Delta had gathered public feedback on the road improvement project this fall.

The City of Delta has issued a request for proposals on a neighbourhood road improvement project that will impact a wide area of North Delta.

The Barrymore Drive/ Monroe Drive Roadway and Utility Improvements Project will include roadway widening, new sidewalks with new rollover curb and gutter, a new watermain along Monroe Drive, LED street lighting improvements, new boulevard trees, traffic calming measures, drainage improvements including ditch infill, as well as roadway re-paving.

The work is to take place along Barrymore Drive from 7775 108 Street to 7701 Barrymore Drive, Monroe Drive from 108 Street to 10986 Monroe Drive, Garfield Drive from 7822 Garfield Drive to Monroe Drive, Garfield Drive from Monroe Drive to 7643 Garret Drive and Garrett Drive from Monroe Drive to Garrett Place.

The detailed design is to be completed by February 2024, with construction scheduled for June and completion by next October.

The city is seeking to pre-qualify contractors to create a shortlist and invite only those respondents to submit firm priced tenders.

The project is part of Delta’s Neighbourhood Road Improvement Plan, which addresses aging infrastructure and provides missing sidewalks.
