The Tsawwassen Library is hosting a session next week on public pensions. Canada's Public Pensions - Are You Eligible? will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 7 to 8: 30 p.m. It is being presented by Service Canada.

Jim Henderson has received the Kiwanis Club of Tsawwassen-Ladner's President's Appreciation Award. Henderson received a standing ovation from all those present at a special celebratory night held at Beach Grove Golf Club.

The Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club presented a cheque to Reach Child and Youth Development Society for $1,000, proceeds from its concession at the Tsawwassen Outdoor Movie Nights this summer.

The Rotary Club of Tsawwassen is once again selling its popular calendars. The 2012 calendars, which retail for $20, depict locally taken photos and contain lottery tickets for draws each month for up to $1,000.

Bittersweet day

The Delta Hospital Foundation received a $4,000 donation from the Tsawwassen Legion to help purchase essential cancer care equipment. The money will help buy an Uretero-Reno Videoscope, a state-of-theart scope used to diagnose kidney cancer.
