Delta chamber sets dates for all-candidates meetings

The Delta Chamber of Commerce has set the dates for a pair of all-candidates meetings for the upcoming federal election.

The first meeting will be held at North Delta Secondary on Monday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 8:45 p.m. while the second meeting is at Genesis Theatre in Ladner (Delta Secondary) on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Both meetings are free to attend and open to the public.

According to a release from the Chamber, both of the all-candidates meetings will address business and community-related issues relevant to federal issues.

The Chamber is accepting written questions to be presented to the candidates at the meetings. Residents can e-mail questions to [email protected]. Written questions will also be accepted from the floor at both meetings.

The confirmed candidates include incumbent Liberal MP Carla Qualtrough, Tanya Corbet from the Conservatives, Randy Anderson-Fennell from the New Democrats, Craig DeCraene from the Green Party and Angelia Ireland from the People’s Party of Canada.

The election is Oct. 21.
