Cea Sunrise Person, the author of two memoirs about her counterculture upbringing, North of Normal and Nearly Normal, is coming to Ladner.

The Vancouver author will read from her new book, discuss her unique life and sign books at Black Bond Books in Ladner next Wednesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m.

A few years ago, Person wrote a memoir, which became an instant bestseller and has been selling steadily ever since.

In North of Normal, she wrote with grace and candor about her unconventional childhood - her early years living in a tipi in Alberta with her pot-smoking, free-loving counterculture family; the numerous misadventures she survived with her mother and her mother's boyfriends; and the bold escape she made from her family at 13 through a modelling career.

It is also the story of one girl's deep-seated desire for normality - a desire that enabled her to risk everything, overcome adversity and achieve her dreams.

Her new book, Nearly Normal, was also an instant bestseller. A continuation of her story, it outlines pieces of her life omitted from the first book.
