Cammidge House to host heritage event

Celebrate Delta's heritage on Sunday

Boundary Bay Park Association members will be in period costumes for Sunday’s event.

The Boundary Bay Park Association is extending an invitation to community members to visit the historic Cammidge House this Sunday to celebrate Heritage Day.

Since 1973 Canadians from coast to coast have recognized Heritage Day on the third Monday in February with the view of promoting and celebrating Canada’s national heritage.

Geof Hacker says this year the National Trust of Canada has selected a theme of “Heritage stands the test of time” and with that in mind static displays have been prepared by the volunteers of the Boundary Bay Park Association recapping the basic history of Delta and its influence on our heritage.

Several long-standing residents of Delta will mingle with visitors and will be happy to answer questions.

The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m.

Light refreshments will be complimentary and served by association members suitably attired in costume befitting the 1914 construction era of Cammidge House.

Cammidge House is at the entrance to Boundary Bay Regional Park.
