Let’s take a step back in time and check out one of early Ladner’s biggest, most prominent retailers, the Lanning, Fawcett and Wilson Ltd. general store on Chisholm Street.
It was constructed in 1907 for Marshall Smith who used it for his general store.
In 1909, Smith’s business was purchased by Lanning, Fawcett & Wilson Ltd.
After Arthur Fawcett's death in 1945, the business was sold to a hardware supply firm, and in 1963 the building was acquired by Delta Foam Board.
It was later used by Massey Marine Supply.
The heritage building in Ladner Village is still there today.
