This Tuesday, April 6, Eldercollege Delta continues its series of online Zoom presentations as they welcome Barry Howard's four session presentation, TED Talks - Ideas That Promote Learning and Dialogue.

TED Talks videos are accessible and cover a variety of current topics. Participants will be asked what topic categories are of most interest to you and then you will discuss talks on those subjects.

Howard is a seasoned facilitator who brings out the best in a group. He is a career and leadership coach who has held human resources leadership and consulting roles. He has a passion for helping individuals actualize their potential.

Howard was a contractor to the Sauder School of Business teaching interviewing and negotiating skills to students in the Masters of Business Administration and Master of Management programs. He has also coached individuals in career transition with career choices, resume development and job search skills.

Geology of Canada

On Monday, April 12, Eldercollege present local resident Dr. Jim Morin's five-session presentation Exploring the Geology of Canada - Province by Province. The ground under Canadians' feet can range up to 3,300 million years old. Much has happened to this land within that time span. This course will explore those events along with the geologic processes that have created Canada's mineral wealth.

Morin followed a geology path in 1965 through Universities of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, a government geologist in Yukon and a mineral exploration geologist in western North America, Indonesia, Turkey and Albania.

He has also taught at the college level with the Institute of Indigenous Government followed by Langara College and BCIT. He has also delivered courses to Indigenous people in more 35 communities in British Columbia and Yukon.
