Ladner’s Pneuma Church is doing its part to help those in need get through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The church is launching a new program called the Food Box next week under its #LovePeoplemovement.

“We realize that there are many people who are struggling financially and some cannot even afford food right now, so we have given $20,000 towards buying food and compiling boxes filled with food that would last a home of four for at least a month,” said lead pastor Andreas Basson.

“We will have 150 boxes to start with. They are for people who are in need. They simply have to go to our Facebook page (Pneuma Church) and they will find the information they need. This program will open on April 17. We hope to continue to support our community as much as possible during this time.”

The #LovePeople movement started with the church’s annual food basket program last Christmas.

At that time, Basson told the Optimist the church planned to continue the #LovePeople campaign throughout 2020. Most of those plans, however, have been curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
