Delta's Got Talent is a brand new addition to the annual event.

"We're really excited to showcase our talented youth in the community," says Tsawwassen Sun Festival coordinator Elaine Campbell.

Some fantastic auditions were sent in, says Delta's Got Talent coordinator Jennifer Bach, noting there will be 13 entries performing in the competition's finale Monday afternoon.

The majority of performers will be singer/songwriters while there's also a dance routine and a band, she adds.

There will be a winner chosen in a 13 to 15 age group and another in the 16 to 19 age group.

Skool Starz, a family entertainment company, is sponsoring the talent show.

One grand prize winner will be awarded a CD single artist recording of an original Skool Starz! song to be published and promoted on SkoolStarz. com, local radio stations and the media.

"This local talent contest is a great opportunity to discover and showcase Delta's finest talent and we are proud to support this event," says Curtis Kendall Wong, president of Skool Starz Inc.

Bach says performances are expected to start at approximately 2:45 p.m. on the mainstage.
