The Sirens at 7 p.m. salute for health care workers has touched the hearts of many in our community.

Joona Leewood, Chet Beale and Brodie Bidwell have been out front of Delta Hospital with their smiles, cheers, signs and support for the past few weeks.

A nurse from Delta Hospital told the Optimist that their support does not go unnoticed by the staff.

“Every night at 7 p.m. people gather outside the emergency department to show their appreciation for us. It means so much to the staff,” she said. “Each night there is a young girl, maybe 8 or 9, standing with a sign, cheering for us!  Her commitment is beyond impressive and doesn’t go missed by our staff. It truly brightens our day.”
