It is time to stop the industrialization of Delta, according to members of Citizens Against Port Expansion (CAPE).

Formed by members of South Delta churches, the group is extremely concerned about the effects of government mega-projects on the lives of Delta residents.

"Our primary concerns are responsible stewardship of the farmland and the threat posed by planned massive industrialization of the South Delta community," said Rev. Dudley Ritchie, a founder of the group.

A town hall meeting will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Sundance Inn in East Ladner from 2 to 4 p.m.

Speakers will include Roger Emsley, executive director of Against Port Expansion, and Ian Robertson, entrepreneur, coach and activist. In addition, panel members will handle questions from the audience.

"This meeting is a call to action," said Ritchie. "We hope every citizen of Delta who shares our concerns will attend."
