The Fraser Health Authority (FHA) on Saturday said it declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the long-term Mountain View Manor care home in Ladner.

According to FHA, two staff members of the facility have tested positive for the coronavirus. They are at home in self-isolation.

According to Saturday's news release from FHA, enhanced safety measures implemented include, among other things, visitors being restricted throughout the facility while staff and resident movement has also been restricted.

"During this time, Fraser Health has additional presence at the site to take any further actions required and support the facility. This includes dedicated people to address quality, answer questions from staff, residents and family, and provide active checks of symptoms with staff and residents," the health region explained.

Earlier this week, family members of residents at Mountain View Manor received an early notification letter that someone at the care home has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Fraser Health stated its enhanced monitoring team was working with the staff and medical staff at the facility to identify anyone who may have been exposed and taking steps to protect the health of residents and staff.
