Auto Crime

April is Auto Crime Awareness Month, and while we focus a lot of social media space on educating about theft from auto, many don't know that theft of auto also happens in Delta.

Recently, a North Delta resident started their vehicle in the morning, and left it running in their driveway to warm up. When they returned 15 minutes later, the vehicle was gone.

Are you taking the right steps to ensure that your vehicle isn’t a target for auto crime?

Did you:

• Lock your vehicle?

• Remove or hide all valuables and belongings?

• Ensure keys are with you and not left in vehicle?

• Park in a well-lit, high traffic area?

• Use an immobilizer?

• Remove any garage door openers?

Immediate Roadside Prohibitions

Last week, DPD served two Immediate Roadside Prohibitions.

One was for a seven-day warning, while the other was for a three-day warning.

If you believe that someone is impaired and behind the wheel of a vehicle, call 9-1-1.
