Delta police investigating targeted shooting in North Delta

Delta police are investigating what they believe to be a targeted shooting after a report of multiple shots fired at a home in North Delta early Sunday morning.

Delta police are investigating what they believe to be a targeted shooting after a report of multiple shots fired at a home in North Delta early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the home in the 7800 block of 120th Street in North Delta around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police say shell casings and bullet holes were located at the rear of the home. No injuries were reported and there was no description of the suspect(s) provided to police.

“It is believed after the initial investigation that this is an isolated and targeted incident,” said public affairs coordinator Sharlene Brooks. “All individuals at the residence remained uncooperative with police.”

Police were called to the same home twice earlier on Saturday evening and into Sunday morning regarding complaints of a noisy party and subsequently regarding a disturbance between eight to 10 people, Brooks added.

“Party goers were uncooperative and many were cleared out of the residence by police,” she said. “It was within hours that police were called back in response to reports of shots fired.”

Brooks said although the occupants of the home and their guests are uncooperative, police are continuing to investigate to identify the individual(s) involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Delta police at 604-946-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800–222-8477.
