Let’s go back to September 1966 when four old friends were working together in the operation of the Boundary Bay Chevron Service Station.

Partners Mike Lederer and Phil Singer had worked together at another station before taking over the South Delta station in 1964.

Lederer previously spent 13 years as an areo-engine technician and was also a Vancouver police officer. Singer, a member of the Kiwanis Club and Tsawwassen Businessmen’s Association, had ventured into various work before settling into the service station business.

Their friends Jack Bumby and Ron Smith joined the station in 1966. Bumby was also a retired aero-technician and member of the Air Force, while Smith brought several years of experience from the auto service industry.
