Let's head back to Ladner Village early last century to check out Billy Maxwell and Walter Creech playing pool in McCrea's Pool Hall on Delta Street.
Built around 1912, the heritage building in Ladner Village is still there today.
Delta Optimist columnist Edgar Dunning wrote that local politicians often enjoyed a few drinks at the pool hall prior to their regular Saturday afternoon council meetings.
He said those meetings inevitably became lively affairs.
In 2014, Linda Park and Pierre Bonato received a Heritage Award of Merit from the city for the restoration of the building.
