Delta Police are reporting an uptick in Immediate Roadside Prohibitions this week from seven to 10, with one driver being criminally charged for impaired driving.

DPD say two of these drivers were impaired by drugs, and six blew a fail, meaning they received a 90-day suspension of their licence, their car is impounded for 30 days, and they will pay administrative fees, as well as premiums on their insurance.

“While a number of these impaired drivers were as a result of proactive patrols, a number were also called in by the public. Thank-you for calling 9-1-1 and being a part of keeping our roads safe,” say DPD in a post on their Facebook page. “If you believe that a driver is driving while impaired, or about to drive while impaired, please call 9-1-1.”
