Delta police this week released a video of a motorcyclist caught going more than 100 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit along the South Fraser Perimeter Road.

The driver, a 27-year-old Lower Mainland man, was pulled over in April after traffic cops clocked him speeding south along SFPR at 213 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Officers noticed the man was wearing a Go-Pro camera and later watched the footage.

The video shows the driver weaving through traffic, including large commercial trucks, while reaching speeds of more than 220 km/h. The motorcycle was impounded and the driver was issued tickets for excessive speeding and driving without due care and attention. The charges resulted in a $483 fine, a seven-day vehicle impoundment and three driver penalty points.

None of the charges were related to the video footage, and were issued following the initial traffic stop.

The rider signed a release allowing Delta police to use the footage.
