Expect heavier southbound traffic along a stretch of Scott Road, especially during rush hour

The watermain project is scheduled to wrap up next month.

You might want to use an alternate route instead of driving down a section of Scott Road as the City of Delta continues a watermain replacement project.

The work is taking place southbound between 64th Avenue and Highway 10.

The city had been doing daytime work blocking one southbound lane of traffic.

Now phase two is starting.

The city notes expect delays along Scott Road with both southbound lanes closed between 64th Avenue and Highway 10.

The city notes that the work runs from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday to Wednesday until mid-May.

Delta council recently approved the city’s latest financial plan and its capital program for 2021 totals $115.8 million.

That number includes $60.8 million for new projects and an estimated $55 million of carried forward projects from previous years.

The capital program includes maintenance and replacement funding for civic buildings, the Neighbourhood Road Improvements Plan, as well as roads, water, sewer, drainage, parks, equipment and other items.
