Bear, a 10-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart condition, went missing in East Ladner Sunday night.

A Ladner family is desperately searching for their missing dog.

Bear, a 10-year-old Shih Tzu, went missing on Nov. 1 at around 8 p.m. on Brodie Road near Mountain View Park. He is white and caramel in colour and has an odd bark.

Beal also has a heart condition and requires medication, and the family is concerned about finding him as soon as possible.

A couple of tips have come in since Bear went missing.

On Nov. 3, owner Andrea Pierotti received a tip that someone walking their dog at the North 40 dog park herd an odd bark coming from the bushes/high grass off to the left at the parking lot entrance.

He was on Monday night seen on Highway 17 heading for the tunnel. People stopped to try and catch him but Bear bolted back towards the family’s neighbourhood.

If spotted, it’s best to simply call out his name without getting him too excited because of his fragile heart.

If found, call Andrea Pierotti at 778-855-9984 or the Delta Community Animal Shelter at 604-940-7111.
