Motorists are advised on some evening closures to lanes on the Alex Fraser Bridge this weekend.
Mainland Contracting issued a travel advisory on Friday afternoon stating that they will be conducting bridge joint repairs impacting vehicle traffic on the Alex Fraser Bridge this weekend.
The repairs will take place on Friday night May 13 to Saturday morning May 14 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
There will be southbound lane closures. Two left lanes will remain open to traffic in the southbound direction, with the two furthest right lanes closed. The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian and cyclist traffic.
There will also be repairs done from Saturday night to Sunday morning from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
This will involve northbound lane closures
The left lane (counterflow lane) will remain open to traffic in the northbound direction, with the three furthest right lanes closed. The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian and cyclist traffic.
Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers. Please show respect for all roadside crews.
