Chief Neil Dubord announced Monday that Norm Lipinski is joining the department as deputy chief beginning March 14.

"It gives me great pleasure to announce that Norm Lipinski has been selected as our new deputy chief constable," said Mayor Lois Jackson, who also heads the Delta police board.

Lipinski served with the Edmonton Police Service, attaining the rank of deputy chief there before accepting a position as assistant commissioner with the RCMP. He has been the district officer in the Lower Mainland and the criminal operations officer in E-Division for the last five years.

"Norm is an accomplished police leader who has built a strong reputation as a credible and collaborative leader who is grounded in the philosophies of community policing and service to the public," Dubord said.
